It was a dominant and masterful performance for No. 13 Alabama in their blowout of No. 8 Georgia, by a final of 38-10. For the Bulldogs, it was a missed opportunity to make things the rest of the way very difficult for the Crimson Tide, and to assert themselves as true playoff contenders. Instead, Georgia fans left this one feeling a lot like Uga.
Alabama vs. Georgia final score, plus 3 things to know from the Crimson Tide’s 38-10 win
Alabama blew out the Bulldogs and reminded everyone that they are one of college football’s best.

It took the Tide a few drives to get into rhythm, with each of their first two drives ending in fumbles. However, once they extended the lead to 10 in the second quarter, they never looked back. The Alabama defense smothered Grayson Lambert/Brice Ramsey and the Georgia offense, sans-Nick Chubb, for the entirely of this one, and reminded the country what a Nick Saban team looks like.
In retrospect, Georgia, it may not have been a good idea to get them extra riled up before this one started.
Three things to know
1. Ah, so that was why Alabama was favored in 72 straight contests before Saturday.
A lot was made (both sincerely and sarcastically) of Alabama’s defeat at the hands of Ole Miss signaling the end of the Crimson Tide dynasty. Fast forward to Saturday, and Ole Miss is squarely in the conversation for being the number one team in the country, not to mention that a miracle touchdown in favor of the Rebels played a big part in the final score against the Tide. The point is, one loss to a good very good football team shouldn’t have been reason enough for Vegas to make this game a pick ‘em game. You’re welcome, sports betters.
2. Things are far from over for Georgia.
The Bulldogs may have fallen to the Tide on Saturday, but the rest of their schedule should comfort the fan base. The arguable toughest tests that they have remaining on the schedule are No. 25 Florida and...Georgia Tech? Yeah. Georgia still has a relatively easy path to the SEC East crown, assuming the Gators falter somewhere along the line. So fear not, Bulldog fans. Things will get better, and you may even get another shot at Nick Saban and his squad.
3. IMPORTANT UPDATE: Nick Chubb and Derrick Henry are still both very good.
An 82-yard touchdown scamper helped his case, but Chubb extended his 100-rushing-yard game streak to an astounding 13 straight games, breaking Herschel Walker's school record. With the dominance that Leonard Fournette has displayed so far this season, Chubb hasn't received as much attention as he should, but he is still the clear, second-best running back in the country.
Not to be outdone, Derrick Henry continued with his own beastly season, racking up 148 yards and a touchdown. The high school career rushing yard record holder has been the key to the Tide's offense in 2015, and has now amassed 570 rushing yards and nine touchdowns so far in this young season. He will continue to be a problem for opposing defenses, and would be receiving even more accolades for his efforts if not Chubb and Fournette.
