Oregon beat Arizona State in triple OT thanks to butt heroics and a controversial call

#PAC12AFTERDARK

With time ticking out in the fourth quarter and Oregon trailing Arizona State by a touchdown, Vernon Adams scrambled on fourth down, desperately looking for an answer.

That answer was Dwayne Stanford, who scored a touchdown by landing in the end zone with his butt.

Oregon made the extra point to send the game to overtime, in an elimination game of sorts for two struggling Pac-12 teams. Stanford scored another touchdown for Oregon on the first play of overtime, but Arizona State was able to respond.

In triple overtime, Adams threw another dart to the end zone, called a touchdown and upheld on review despite at least one angle that made it appear the receiver’s toe may have been on the line.

Arizona State threw an interception in the end zone on the ensuing possession, losing the game 61-55.
