How to watch Georgia Tech vs. Virginia on TV or online, plus 3 things to know

Which team gets a much-needed win?

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

If any team is ever going to have to come back from an emotional high, it’s Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets beat Florida State last week on a dramatic last-second field goal block that was returned for a touchdown, dubbed the Miracle on Techwood Drive.

But other than that game, Tech has actually been extremely disappointing this year. The Yellow Jackets lost to Notre Dame early in the season and proceeded to lose a total of five straight games, which included everything from blowout losses to Clemson and Duke to a last-second field goal loss against Pitt. Then the FSU game happened, and the Yellow Jackets will look to get back on track and move toward bowl eligibility.

Then there’s Virginia. This was supposed to be coach Mike London’s last year to prove himself, but it hasn’t gone very well for him and the Cavaliers. UVA is 2-5, with its only wins coming against William & Mary and Syracuse, and the Cavs are likely to miss out on a bowl again. The games in the national spotlight have been bad, with blowout losses to UCLA and Boise State, and a last-second loss to Notre Dame.

Both teams need this win to even have a sniff of bowl eligibility.

Three big things to know

1. Will Georgia Tech come out flat after last week’s huge win? That’s always a concern after such an emotional game.

2. What if Virginia loses big at home? Considering that there have now been EIGHT coaching changes so far this season, could London lose his job? He could be coaching for his job.

3. Georgia Tech has talent, and it showed that last year, but the Yellow Jackets need to get back on track. This would be a good week to do it.
