USC and Washington fans react to Steve Sarkisian’s fiasco of a loss

Good morning! It’s your wakeup roundup of college football stuff.

A great disquiet in Los Angeles. No. 17 USC lost a horrible game to Washington on Thursday, and fans are absolutely howling for Sark’s job. UW didn’t need much more on offense than this sweet double-pass TD, thanks in part to USC’s decisions.

The Trojan rushing attack was the only thing that worked, and USC repeatedly went to the pass late. How’d that work out? Well, it made someone say “I miss Lane Kiffin,” among many other reactions.

Washington “never once looked like an underdog,” says our USC blog. Oh, right, and Sark used to coach the Huskies. UW Dawg Pound is pretty happy about how that part turned out.

Elsewhere, Houston splattered SMU.

(And, back to USC, here’s your reminder that Sarkisian was in hot water before the season even began for turning up too hard at a preseason event.)

Sark's not *that* bad

BLACK AND YELLOW (AND RED AND WHITE). Randy Edsall is reportedly out at Maryland. In these dark moments, Randy took to Twitter and quoted Wiz Khalifa, sort of.

Go Blue. The defenses in Columbus, East Lansing and State College got a lot of the press during the offseason, but the one in Ann Arbor could be the best in the Big Ten this year.

Push is coming to shove. The vultures/airplanes pulling banners are circling over Al Golden at Miami, and it feels a lot like he needs a win over Florida State to boost the chances he keeps his job. Here’s how the Canes can go out and do it.

JUST KISS. Baylor and TCU swear they don’t have a rivalry, yet here’s a crude purple “TCU” painted on the RG3 statue at Baylor.

“He knows what he left.” You ask other coaches to assign blame for Texas, and it ends up at the feet of Mack Brown pretty quickly. But in some rare good news for Texas, it sounds like they may finally be settling that ridiculous Joe Wickline lawsuit with Oklahoma State.

About Tennessee. A story came out that Butch Jones allegedly had a physical confrontation with a player. The school administration says it’s done its due diligence, but tweets from what appears to be a former player at Cincinnati say this isn’t the first time Jones has attacked a player.

Meanwhile, a look at how Tennessee is so good at losing close games.

A new tradition. Georgia’s yearly inexplicable/humiliating loss really is becoming something you can set your watch to.

Gamblin’! Bud Elliott is beating Vegas on the year, and he likes Notre Dame, Ohio State and 18 others against the spread.

Nice gesture. It’s easy to just wear some pink gloves to show your support for breast cancer awareness, but Washington’s Travis Feeney went a step further and shaved a pink ribbon into the back of his head.

Tough situation. South Carolina will technically be the home team when it plays at LSU on Saturday, as the game’s been relocated from Columbia due to flooding. However, it sounds like LSU is going out of its way to be a good host.

Jael Mary II. Remember when Arizona State beat USC on a Hail Mary last year? That same player caught a Hail Mary for the Texans last night.
