After a close call against Minnesota two weeks ago, Michigan got back on track in a big way with a blowout win over Rutgers. Usually, blowout wins against Rutgers aren’t eventful, but everything is eventful when Jim Harbaugh is your coach. Harbaugh made waves by going for two while up 25 against the Scarlet Knights, because they were talking trash, and the Wolverines (rightfully) got penalized for “intent to deceive” for hiding a tight end on the edge of the field.
Michigan vs. Indiana 2015: Start time, live stream, TV schedule and 3 things to know
What a contrast of styles.
Now, Michigan must go to Indiana to face its stylistic opposite. The Hoosiers are 0-5 in the Big Ten in what was supposed to be their breakout year, but they’ve proven they can be dangerous, taking games against undefeated Iowa and Ohio State and one-loss Michigan State into the fourth quarter. Their problem has been closing those games out, due in part to a very inconsistent defense, but the offense is among the best in the conference.
This game is full of interesting matchups when Indiana is on offense. How will IU quarterback Nate Sudfeld do against the Michigan secondary that includes stars Jabrill Peppers and Jourdan Lewis? And can UAB transfer Jordan Howard be effective against the top-ranked Michigan run defense, just like he was against Iowa’s very good run defense? The Hoosiers will likely be able to move the ball, but the real question is whether they can stop Michigan. There aren’t a lot of data points to suggest they will.

Three big things to know
1. Indiana needs two more wins to make a bowl game. It should get those against Maryland and Purdue, but an upset here would virtually seal the deal.
2. Kevin Wilson needs a marquee win to show his program is on the right track. This would certainly count.
3. Can the Michigan defense be better than it was against Minnesota? It got back on track against Rutgers, but can’t afford to slip up against a potent Indiana offense.
