Both of these programs have a lot to be proud of this season, but what they’re going to be known most for in 2015 is giving Clemson a run for its money. In all seriousness, both of these teams have their flaws, and this was never either team’s target year for success. However, they both have overachieved to an extent.
NC State vs. Florida State 2015: Start time, live stream, TV schedule and 3 things to know
It’s the “lost to Clemson” consolation game.
Florida State is in a somewhat odd position, particularly at quarterback. The Seminoles got Notre Dame transfer Everett Golson to make up for the drop-off once Jameis Winston left school. However, Golson never caught on in Tallahassee, and now he’s been benched in favor of last year’s backup Sean Maguire. But quarterback woes aside, this is still a talented team, even if young. And it has a bonus in running back Dalvin Cook, who ran past the Clemson defense as well as anyone has been able to this year.
NC State is an interesting team we still don’t know much about. The Wolfpack went 4-0 against a joke of a non-conference schedule — Troy, Eastern Kentucky, Old Dominion and South Alabama — and they beat Wake Forest and Boston College, but they’ve lost to all of the competent opponents they’ve played. This game against Florida State gives NC State a chance to get a signature win before the end of the season.

Three big things to know
1. Florida State put up a good fight against Clemson. Will the Seminoles have a letdown against NC State? Three ACC losses and a potential 8-4 season wouldn’t go over very well in Tallahassee.
2. NC State has a good offense. Can it move the ball against Florida State? If so, the Wolfpack will have a great chance to pull off the upset.
3. The quarterback controversy rages on for Florida State. Will Sean Maguire impress enough to end that?
