Memphis is going above and beyond to try and keep head coach Justin Fuente with the Tigers, having reportedly offered him more than $3 million to stay -- even more than Houston offered Tom Herman.
Memphis reportedly offering Justin Fuente even more than Houston’s $3 million Tom Herman offer
The Tigers don’t want to lose their coach.

It’s a strong move by Memphis to try and keep a coaching candidate with a lot of interest from other programs. The Tigers reportedly made the offer to Fuente before the big win over Ole Miss.
Fuente's comment, from the Commercial Appeal.
I was sincerely humbled by the university’s offer to step up. In addition, this administration realizes how important the staff is to me and is trying to step up substantially for our coaching staff.
The Tigers are 8-2 going into Saturday’s game against Temple, and are 25-22 in Fuente’s four years with the program. Memphis has been improving each season, finishing in the Top 25 in 2014, and beating Ole Miss a few weeks ago.
Fuente signed a five-year extension last November for $1.4 million per year. This new contract would reportedly make him the highest-paid coach outside of the Power 5 conferences.
