How to watch Oregon vs. Oregon State on TV or online, plus 3 things to know

The Civil War isn’t a fair fight this year.

Earlier this year, it looked like the Civil War was going to be disappointing for both teams this season. Things haven’t gotten better for Oregon State in the Beavers’ first year under Gary Andersen. They’re 2-9, with their only wins over Weber State and San Jose State, and they’re 0-9 against power conference teams, including 0-8 in the Pac-12. They’ve lost those Pac-12 games by an average of 26.4 points per game.

So this last game could be rough for Oregon State. You never know what can happen in a rivalry game, but this is the wrong time to play Oregon. Despite struggling early in the year, with a blowout home loss to Utah and a rare home loss to Washington State, the Ducks have become one of the best teams in the country over the past month, owning wins over both Stanford and USC. Much of that is due to quarterback Vernon Adams, who has reinvigorated this offense.

Oregon is clearly trending upwards this season, and while the Ducks aren’t going to the Rose Bowl or the College Football Playoff, they have the chance to win big in a respectable bowl game. Oregon State is trending the other way. Andersen may well find his footing with the Beavers, but it hasn’t happened this year. A win over Oregon would provide a lot of momentum going into next season.

Three big things to know

1. Adams has been sensational since coming back from injury. If anything, he should provide some great entertainment in this game.

2. Is Oregon State the worst power conference team in the country this year? That title probably belongs to Kansas, but the Beavers aren’t far behind. Beating Oregon, or even keeping it close, can help this program’s reputation heading into the offseason.

3. For the moment, Oregon State’s offense has been okay. Oregon’s defense has been suspect. Is that a path to an upset?
