There are college football rivalries all across the nation, but none of them are Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate. Mostly because none of them have a name that cool.
Georgia vs. Georgia Tech 2015: Start time, live stream, TV schedule and 3 things to know
Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate may be the most rivalry of rivalry week names.
The Georgia Bulldogs (8-3, 5-3 in the SEC) heads down the road to Atlanta to take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (3-8, 1-7 in the ACC), in a rivalry game that could completely change the tenor of both teams’ respective seasons. The Bulldogs have missed out on a chance to win a pretty pathetic SEC East, but a 9-3 regular season record with rivalry wins over Auburn and Tech would certainly cool off Mark Richt’s allegedly hot seat, with some likely staff changes coming down the pipe.
There may not be much that can blow the stink off the Yellow Jackets' season. After some preseason talk as the favorite in the ACC, Tech's season has included losses in seven of its last eight games (and one amazing win over a top-10 Florida State squad). But a win that could extend the misery of the in-state rival, which has already had something of a miserable season with some wild swings and ugly losses? There are some things that money just can't buy.

Three big things to know
1. Option warmup?
Georgia’s defense got something of a preview of the Yellow Jackets’ triple-option attack last week against Georgia Southern, which runs a similar style of offense out of some different formations. The bad news there is that the Bulldogs gave up 233 yards on 53 carries to the Eagles. Still, it gives the defensive staff a chance at film study and a quick turnaround at the reads and responsibilities of the attack.
2. Sony Michel
The Georgia sophomore has taken over for the injured Nick Chubb and run for 100-plus yards in two of the last three games, including the 25-yard game winner in overtime last week versus Georgia Southern. Georgia Tech's defense has allowed 200 or more yards five times this season. Also, the Bulldog passing game has been a bit of a struggle in the last month, so Michel seems like the safe bet for a heavy workload.
3. Justin Thomas
Georgia Tech's junior quarterback suffered an upper-body injury on a rough hit against Miami last week, putting his status in doubt for this one. If he can't go, that means the Jackets will be going with freshman backup Matthew Jordan, who has appeared in four games this season, rushing for 164 yards on 36 attempts, but completing just five of nine passes.
