Minnesota vs. Ohio State 2015: Start time, live stream, TV schedule and 3 things to know

Minnesota’s tough schedule gets tougher.

Minnesota got its heart broken against Michigan last week, due to clock management issues and the inability to get half a yard on the goal line on the last play of the game. The loss was particularly heartbreaking since coach Jerry Kill had resigned due to health problems just that week.

The good news for Minnesota is this was the best it had played all year. The bad news? A lot of the good offensive players were somewhat fluky. The even worse news? The Gophers have two straight road games coming up on the schedule, starting with this week at Ohio State. Minnesota is 4-4, but it has a tough road to bowl eligibility and might have to pull off a couple of upsets to make a bowl game.

Could Ohio State be prime for an upset loss? On one hand, the Buckeyes will be without starting quarterback J.T. Barrett, who is suspended a game for an impaired driving citation. On the other hand, their backup quarterback, Cardale Jones, won them a national championship last year. The Buckeyes have a stout defense, and Minnesota will be handed the difficult task of trying to keep up with Jones on offense.

Three big things to know

1. How does Minnesota respond after losing such a heartbreaker last week? That has to be tough to overcome, particularly since the Gophers played at a far higher level than they have the rest of the season and still lost.

2. The Cardale Jones offense is back at Ohio State. How successful will Jones be, and can he play better than he did early in the season, but against a much tougher defense?

3. This is an absolutely brutal stretch for Minnesota, which must go to Ohio State and Iowa, plus play Wisconsin at home before the end of the season. The Gophers will have to pull an upset to get bowl eligible.
