In what was supposed to be a breakout season for both teams, albeit on different levels, Kentucky and Georgia are both facing disappointing years. Georgia has been arguably the most disappointing team in the SEC. The Bulldogs looked like obvious favorites in the SEC East, which everyone else either weak or rebuilding, but they have already been virtually eliminated from the division race. Coach Mark Richt is already under fire. Imagine what would happen if he lost to Kentucky.
Kentucky vs. Georgia 2015: Start time, live stream, TV schedule and 3 things to know
A desperation bowl in Athens?
Kentucky is looking for a breakthrough on the field after seeing a breakthrough in recruiting a few years ago. The Wildcats are certainly better than they have been in past years, but they’re still just fighting for bowl eligibility, rather than fighting for relevance in the division race. Kentucky has wins over South Carolina and Missouri, and it still gets to face Vanderbilt and Louisville, with a real chance at 7-5, but the defense is still far too inconsistent, which showed up in losses to Auburn and Mississippi State. The Wildcats still haven’t gotten that legitimizing win.
Both of these teams have been so inconsistent this season that anything could happen. Will the Georgia offense, which didn’t score a touchdown against Florida or Missouri, be able to take advantage of such an inconsistent Kentucky defense? Both teams desperately need this one.

Three big things to know
1. Kentucky’s defense has been really bad at times. Like when they just forgot to cover one side of the field. That needs to be a lot better against Georgia.
2. So what happens to Mark Richt if Kentucky loses to Georgia? Is he coaching for his job here? A loss would make a disappointing season that much worse.
3. Kentucky needs a signature win to show it’s moving forward under Mark Stoops. This game would qualify, especially on the road, even if Georgia isn’t nationally elite.
