ESPN’s video on Les Miles and LSU superfan Sid Ortis is emotional and unforgettable

No, you’re crying.

ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi narrating a tearjerker segment during College GameDay is not a new phenomenon. But today’s segment about LSU head coach Les Miles and Sid Ortis, an LSU fan from Alabama stricken with pediatric bone cancer, was one of the more emotional clips you’ll ever see.

My goodness.

Miles spoke about Ortis earlier this week.

“I was fortunate to meet Sid Ortis and his family,” Miles said Monday. “He was a great fan of LSU. I was able to make his acquaintance. He had so much spirit and excitement and he loved his Tigers.”

Miles added that he was impressed by the strength of the young teen and his family.

“We will all have our day,” Miles said. “He was with his mother and father and he’s in a better place.”

“I think about how fortunate that we are, that I am, that my family is healthy. Sid’s in a better place.”
