The Army/Navy rivalry videos confirm that Navy is Illuminati

That explains why they can play Kenny Loggins songs in the Pentagon.

One of the finest traditions of the annual Army-Navy game is the “spirit spot” videos that students and staff at each academy produce to (occasionally) hype their team and (mostly) dump on their bitter rivals. With the Midshipmen in the middle of a 13-year winning streak, these videos are sometimes the only thing that Army cadets have to look forward to after kickoff. In years past, this has led to inappropriately long hashtags, Charlie Daniels tributes, and the abduction of unsuspecting milkmen.

With the game coming up on Saturday, both programs are firing away with their spots to help fuel the rivalry that burns between these two teams. While Army may be a 21.5-point underdog, it has already taken an early lead when it comes to this year’s hype videos. Straight from West Point, they gave us the clubhouse leader for spirit spot of the year and rock-solid proof that Navy is working for the secret society that controls our everyday lives:

A damning revelation, if true.

Navy punched back by traveling to a galaxy far, far away in what is basically five-plus minutes of Midshipmen ripping on West Point while wearing Star Wars costumes. Highlights include a Cadet offering an imperial pillow fight and promptly being choked to death by Darth Vader, Princess Leia brutally RKOing a stormtrooper, and the ether of a “May the fourteenth be with you” as a catch phrase to highlight Navy’s current winning streak.

Army’s next video promises the hottest blockbuster of the year. When Cadet sleeper cells infiltrate the Navy spirit squad, it sets up a chain of events that leads to a full on tuba attack in On Brave Old Army Team (coming summer 2016).

Bonus points for throwing some shade at the Star Wars spoof, too.

Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus got into the action by channeling his inner Rob Lowe while pointing to the scoreboard.

“Navy has won America’s game 13 years in a row.”

“Army has ... played in a football game for the last 13 years.”

And then Navy pulled another power move from its bag of tricks, sending its marching band and pep squad into THE PENTAGON for a mid-day Kenny Loggins serenade. Danger zone!

All in all, a strong effort from both sides. Navy seems to have the edge in overall quantity of spirit spots, but Army’s commitment to quality and creativity evens up the score. Here’s a look at last year’s videos. For more Army-Navy game coverage, check out our breakdown of the completely badass uniforms the Midshipmen will wear on Saturday.
