The 2015 Sun Bowl will be an interesting matchup between the Miami Hurricanes and Washington State Cougars. 2015 saw both of these teams come into the season with coaches on the hot seat, and then things went in different directions.

Miami and Washington State get together on the border. Here’s how you can tune in.

Miami, of course, fired Al Golden midway through the season after suffering the worst loss in program history -- a 58-0 humiliation at the hands of Clemson. They turned around to win four of their last five games under interim coach Larry Scott, and brought in former Georgia head coach and Miami alum Mark Richt as their new coach in December.
Mike Leach was also on the hot seat at the start of the season, but despite a loss to FCS Portland State to start the year, the Cougars went 8-4 with a win over Oregon. Things ended on a bit of a sour note with a bad loss to Washington in the Apple Cup and a concussion for star quarterback Luke Falk, but this year was undeniably a step in the right direction for Wazzu.

Three big things to know
1. Luke Falk is back. The star Washington State quarterback has been practicing and should be back taking snaps after missing the Apple Cup with a concussion. I’m not sure Falk’s presence would’ve made a difference against Washington, but it’s undeniable how much better the Cougs are with Falk throwing the ball instead of Peyton Bender.
2. What about Gabe Marks, though? Falk's favorite target, Gabe Marks, suffered a nasty looking leg injury in the Apple Cup, and there haven't been any updates about his status for the bowl game. Considering how gross the hit was, it would be surprising if Marks played in El Paso.
3. Playing for their new coach. Mark Richt won’t be in charge of the Hurricanes, but you’d better believe the players coming back would like to go put in a good impression for their coach as they head into their first offseason together.
