Good morning! The Read Option is your morning roundup of college football stuff.

It seems like a real coup for The U, which had been interviewing former coaches and assistants like Butch Davis, Greg Schiano and Mario Cristobal. Richt won 145 games and two SEC titles in 14 seasons. He is a Miami alumnus and former Hurricanes quarterback, and has years of state experience as an assistant coach at Florida State.
The State of the U is understandably excited, as are potential recruits in South Florida. Meanwhile, Georgia fans are wondering what it could mean for their program, particularly five-star quarterback commit Jacob Eason, with whom Richt has a very close relationship.
Oklahoma made some major changes in this offseason to power itself to a Big 12 title, and Ian Boyd has a great breakdown right here.
The Piesman Trophy finalists are here, with three lineman feats coming to us from Miami, Michigan State and Southeast Louisiana.
In other coaching hire news, Maryland found its man in D.J. Durkin, Michigan's defensive coordinator, which is not what the Terps had in mind at first. As did Toledo, promoting from within to replace Matt Campbell with offensive coordinator Jason Candle.
Whither the Warriors? Matt Brown breaks down whether Hawaii dropping football is a real thing.
Will Muschamp continues to push for the South Carolina job, and is even trying to make it clear that he wants to put more of an emphasis on offense this time around.
You’re going to hear the name Jimmy Sexton a lot through all this. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach has an excellent profile of college football’s super agent.
