Alabama scored 2 points on Florida here. Will that be enough to win the SEC Championship?

Update, about a quarter later: No.

Via CBS

Seven days ago, Florida’s destitute offense managed zero points against Florida State. Its defense did score two points via safety.

Seeing as Alabama’s better than FSU, zero points is very much in play again in the SEC Championship.

What I’m more interested in is whether this Alabama safety in the first quarter can hold as the winning score. Freshman Keith Holcombe got credit for the block, but a whole horde of gentlemen were within range of it. It was very nearly a touchdown, which would’ve been an offensive display of scoreboard overkill against the miserable Gators.

With a win, Bama advances to the College Football Playoff, while a shocking upset by Florida would rearrange the New Year’s Six field and warp the minds of all onlookers.
