Clemson listed as early favorite to win 2015 ACC football championship

The oddsmakers like the Tigers’ chances of breaking Florida State’s streak of three straight conference titles.

Adam Hagy-USA TODAY Sports

Some very early 2015 conference championship odds have been released by 5Dimes, and the Clemson Tigers are listed as the favorites to win the ACC, not Florida State.

The Tigers opened at +250 to win the conference, just ahead of FSU at +300. The Seminoles have won the ACC three straight years, but are losing star quarterback Jameis Winston to the NFL. Clemson's star quarterback Deshaun Watson ended the 2014 season on the shelf with a knee injury, but he should be good to go for the start of 2015.

Here are the full ACC championship odds:

Clemson +250
Florida State +300
Georgia Tech +400
Duke +800
Louisville +800
Virginia Tech +800
NC State +1000
Miami FL +1500
Pittsburgh +1500
North Carolina +2000
Boston College +3000
Virginia +3000
Syracuse +6000
Wake Forest +6000

The oddsmakers remain fairly high on Georgia Tech at +400. They surprised many with an 11-3 season in 2014, and have a number of important contributors returning, led by quarterback Justin Thomas.

Syracuse and Wake Forest are tied for the longest odds at for the ACC title, both coming in at +6000. Go ahead and put a dollar or two down on them. Who knows, weirder things have happened.
