Ohio State big favorites to win 2015 Big Ten football championship

Oddsmakers like the Buckeyes’ chances to repeat.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Ohio State Buckeyes are big favorites to repeat as Big Ten champions in 2015, according to 5Dimes. The Buckeyes opened at -150 to win the conference, with Michigan State fairly far back at +300. Of course, Ohio State won the conference last year and then went on to win the College Football Playoff title, and they have a lot of talent returning to Columbus, including all three quarterbacks.

Here’s the full list of Big Ten title odds:

Ohio State -150
Michigan State +300
Wisconsin +800
Nebraska +1100
Minnesota +1200
Michigan +1300
Penn State +1700
Iowa +2200
Rutgers +2500
Maryland +3000
Northwestern +5500
Illinois +6000
Indiana +6000
Purdue +8000

Ohio State and Michigan State are largely alone at the top of the conference, with the next closest team, Wisconsin, listed at +800. The rest of the conference faces very long odds, but a freak title run by essentially anyone outside the top three would net those bettors quite a nice return. Purdue faces the longest odds in the Big Ten at +8000.
