Alabama, Auburn favored to win 2015 SEC football championship

Will the Tide win the SEC again in 2015, or will a new champion emerge?

The Alabama Crimson Tide opened as the favorites to win the 2015 SEC title, according to 5Dimes. The Tide start at +260 to repeat as champs, but Auburn, Georgia and Ole Miss are not far behind at +400, +400, and +420, respectively.

The Tide are coming off their fifth straight top-ranked recruiting class, so it’s not exactly a surprise that they’re expected to do big things again in 2015.

Here are the full conference odds:

Alabama +260
Auburn +400
Georgia +400
Mississippi +420
Tennessee +900
LSU +1,000
Arkansas +1,200
Missouri +1,300
Mississippi State +1,500
Texas A&M +1,500
South Carolina +2,500
Florida +2,500
Kentucky +7,500
Vanderbilt +10,000

Tennessee is a very intriguing proposition at +900. The Vols return a lot of talent and brought in another highly rated recruiting class and they play in the relatively soft SEC East. If their talent comes together, they could be a reasonable shot to win the conference for the first time since 1998. Tennessee’s in-state rivals Vanderbilt are the longest odds in the conference at +10,000, which is also the longest odds of any power-conference team.
