The draft started, BTW. The first round is in the books, with Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota going No. 1 and 2, as expected. The college braggin’ rights results are here, led by the ACC and Pac-12, with nine picks each, and the Washington Huskies leading the way among schools, with three in the top 25.

Good morning! Here’s your daily summary of college football stuff.

That’s all fine and good, but the important thing here is that Winston did this afterward, referencing this whole thing. (He’s since made this Instagram invisible to the public eye.) [Update: The story behind the photo is actually pretty interesting.]
You can get full draft results here as they roll in: A Nebraska star leads the best players still remaining, two Charlie Strong pupils were the first round’s best value picks, a Sun Devil and more Noles should hear their names soon and all of this is just going to show how crazy-loaded Ohio State is now.
Also, Charlie Strong accidentally congratulated Texas’ Malcolm Brown, who was not drafted yet. Texas’ Malcom Brown was.
Are you sure about this? The Big 12 all but announced that they will bring back a conference championship game if they’re allowed to do so with 10 teams. This may sound good based on 2014’s results, but ignores the fact that the old Big 12 title game was consistently a major stumbling block for potential BCS title contenders.
Still on top? Bill C’s preview series hit UCF, which may or may not still be the best program in the American.
Uhhhh, Jim? Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany has been doing a lot of talking. He’s had a lot to say about freshman ineligibility, and now he’s come out in favor of satellite camps while also decrying a lot of other legal recruiting issues. What’s his point here?
That sounds uncomfortable. Iowa tight end Jake Duzey will be out three-to-four months with a torn patellar tendon. Duzey is one of the Hawkeyes’ best returning offensive players.
This should work. Stanford tight end Charlie Hopkins is transferring to Virginia. Any time you can add a Stanford tight end, it’s probably a good thing.
