Bad day in Baton Rouge. Four LSU Tigers were arrested on Thursday, including quarterback Anthony Jennings. All four have been suspended indefinitely, so one would imagine this puts Brandon Harris in the driver’s seat for the starting QB job.
4 LSU arrests in one day could clear up the QB situation, for what that’s worth
Good morning. It’s your daily roundup of college football stuff.

If Jennings is a limited talent, Harris should get the call, right? That’s a common thread among LSU fans, but it’s not the obvious answer.
The freshman was wildly inaccurate. He sometimes appeared as though he didn’t know what play the Tigers were running. Such a mistake-prone player couldn’t be a net positive, but Harris sure does flash talent.
Jennings is a solid runner, but Harris is capable of dominating defenders when he gets loose. Harris also possesses a cannon arm that allows him to hit narrow windows or overthrow screen passes by 10 yards, as the case may be.
Jennings and two contributing defenders were arrested together, with all three receiving unauthorized entry charges. Lineman Trey Lealaimatafao was also arrested, but there’s no indication his situation is related to the others.
No pressure. Bill Connelly’s preview series moves on to Boston College, where a long skid was promptly stopped by two years of growth after the arrival of Steve Addazio. 2015 may be a step back for the Eagles, but Addazio has earned a lot of leash.
Clockwork. Texas announces it will start selling beer and wine at football games, and surprise! Texas A&M’s chancellor is ready with a joke.
Speaking of Texas. Athletic director Steve Patterson didn’t have a great reputation thanks to his time with the Portland Trail Blazers, but now we have a fresh new set of evidence that Patterson may not know what he’s doing. Not a great sign when your AD is pinching pennies over assistant coach salaries at the richest program in college football.
You know who isn’t pinching pennies at Texas, though? Those boosters who were hitting QB Chris Simms with $100 handshakes.
Not Georgia’s best day. Not only did four-star tackle E.J. Price decommit, DeVondre Seymour (son of NFL and UGA great Richard) appears to be giving up football.
AUBURN FAST! How fast is Auburn’s offense, really? Not actually all that fast.
One little detail. Rutgers has a master plan for some badly needed facilities improvements, which is good! They just need to figure out how to pay for it.
Kentucky does land a lot of Ohio players. Ohio State offensive lineman Marcelys Jones is leaving the program, and Kentucky has already emerged as a landing spot.
This is good. The top 10 “Spurrierisms” from the Head Ball Coach’s tenure at South Carolina. Avert your eyes/ears if you’re a Clemson fan.
Terrelle Pryor, NFL wide receiver? The former Buckeye QB is giving it a shot. He did catch three passes in college.
