Ole Miss junior OT Laremy Tunsil, a former five-star recruit and potential top 10 2016 NFL Draft pick, was arrested for domestic violence on Saturday after punching his stepfather. However, Rebels coach Hugh Freeze said that Tunsil was actually defending his mother, after his stepfather allegedly struck her.
Ole Miss star arrested for punching stepfather, allegedly while defending mother
Good morning! It’s your digest of everything that happened in college football this weekend.

Freeze:
Laremy realizes he could have handled it differently, but I am proud of him for standing up for his mother and protecting his family. Laremy and his mother have also pressed charges against the stepfather. As we gather more facts, we will act and make decisions accordingly.
“His stepfather shoved his mom and Laremy punched him,” said a source cited by ESPN. “It’s as simple as that. He was defending his mother.”
Dollars and sense. Many have speculated that if the Big 12 expanded, member schools would end up losing conference money due to cutting the pie in more ways. But if you look at the numbers, that’s almost certainly not the case.
Florida law. The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating Florida State quarterback De’Andre Johnson for allegedly punching a woman at a bar. The TPD drew ire -- not the first time -- for releasing the alleged victim’s name and personal information, but not Johnson’s. But there’s actually a valid legal reason.
Now’s your shot, ACC. Florida State won’t be as good in 2015 as it was in 2013 (not that it was in 2014, either), so if anybody in the ACC wants to end the Seminoles’ title streak, this is the year.
Awkward. Former Georgia Tech linebacker Anthony Harrell is transferring to Florida, but there was apparently some miscommunication.
@GeorgiaTechFB yea that's a lie get your facts right. I've chosen to leave and play my fifth year elsewhere. pic.twitter.com/KYQmqA7wlJ
