Will SEC favorite Auburn have star WR Duke Williams this season or not?

Good morning! Here’s your roundup of the weekend’s college football stuff.

Preseason All-SEC wide receiver Duke Williams has been absent from multiple Auburn practices. Head coach Gus Malzahn called it a “discipline issue” and said “nobody’s bigger than the team around here, and that’s between him and me.”

“Is missing games and maybe the entire season a possibility?” writes AL.com’s Kevin Scarbinsky. “That may depend on how far Malzahn is willing to go to try to help Williams mature off the field as well as on it.”

Williams, who’d already been suspended for Auburn’s bowl game in January, has been considered a likely first round NFL Draft pick. At SEC Media Days, Auburn was voted the favorite to win the conference.

Wisconsin has more Watts. All-Pro JJ Watt’s younger brothers are making moves, with T.J. changing positions to linebacker and Derek the bodyguard for another Heisman contender.

Show me more. Missouri has won the SEC East for two straight years, but the Tigers aren't going to win it this year. Probably. Maybe. Hell, who knows?

Minnesota AD resigns after he sent graphic, sexually explicit texts to one university employee and allegedly groped another.

Really awkward team photos. Star Florida State running back Dalvin Cook is suspended indefinitely, facing a battery charge. On Sunday, FSU took two different team pictures: one with Cook and one without him.

Big loss for Oregon. More pressure on the Ducks’ many weapons as RB Thomas Tyner is done for the year.

Youth movement. Charlie Strong has reportedly told Longhorns that a depth chart tie will go to the younger player.

Remember the Penn State player who tackled a tree? He’s back, scaring teammates with both his dancing and his spin kicks.

Made his mark. Adam Lane, the running back best known for pooping his pants while leading Florida to a bowl win, is transferring.

Not-Quite-As-Big House. Michigan Stadium will still be the biggest in the country, but it will get just a bit smaller.

Naijiel Hale, the son of late singer Nate Dogg, was supposed to fight for a starting spot at Washington, but he was dismissed from the team.

Aggie Nights. Texas A&M revealed its alternate uniforms for its October 31 game against South Carolina. The Aggies will be wearing black at home for the first time in the modern era.

Spartan strong. Michigan State has been known for defense, but the Spartans’ offense has taken off. Ian Boyd explains how the MSU offense can continue to dominate.

Someone has to lose. Every SEC West team is picked in at least two preseason top 25 rankings, but someone has to finish last!

Lunch pals. Nothing says intense week one matchup like a battle over lunch boxes, but that’s exactly what’s happening with Virginia Tech and Ohio State.

CROOTIN’. No blue chip commits this weekend, but among the top players who pledged, Rutgers landed a cornerback, Washington added one of the state’s best players, Virginia Tech beat some big names for a DE and Oklahoma beats Texas for a DB.

Pro Football Hall of Fame inductions included Tim Brown, who almost never became a Notre Dame star. His mom didn't want him to play football in high school, so he told SB Nation he lied and said he was joining the band.
