You know how it feels like every year that you hear that Notre Dame is for real? Well this year, the Irish really might be College Football Playoff contenders. That was true going into the season, and it looks even more true after the team’s dominating 38-3 win over Texas. After week one, Notre Dame looks really, really good, and SB Nation’s Jason Kirk has the Irish in the Playoff.
How to watch Notre Dame vs. Virginia on TV or online, plus 3 things to know
Can Notre Dame build on a huge win over Texas?
Despite losing running back Tarean Folston for the season, Notre Dame’s new-look offense looked outstanding under Malik Zaire, and the defense was up to the task, as well, after a rough end to 2014. Yes, it was just Texas — amazingly, we can say that in 2015 — but this was a beatdown.
Virginia comes in on the other end of the spectrum. This season is make-or-break to save Mike London’s job, but the Cavaliers did nothing to impress against UCLA in week one. And perhaps the thing they’ll be most known for this season is launching the Josh Rosen Heisman campaign. Without the best game of the London era, UVA is in danger of starting 0-2 in what was supposed to be a redemption season.

Three big things to know
1. Game two of the Notre Dame Playoff run! No, really! They seem like they’re really good!
2. London needs a big win to get a very important season on its feet. A win over a team like Notre Dame would be a wonderful way to go about that. No time like the present to actually get that done.
3. This is Notre Dame’s first ever visit to Charlottesville. I know that because NBC told me approximately 100 times last Saturday. So I guess it’s a pretty big thing to know, or something.
