It’s Saturday once again, and there’s a full day of college football ahead. There may not be a ton of marquee matchups, but this is the kind of week where a couple of games come out of nowhere and are tons of fun. Make sure you’re ready for it.
College football schedule for Sept. 12: TV times, online streaming and 3 things to know
We have the full schedule for Saturday’s college football slate, and three things to look for.
Here’s the TV and streaming schedule for Saturday’s games.
Three things to know
1. Revenge for the Spartans? Michigan State hosts Oregon in the marquee matchup of the weekend, and the Spartans are trying to avenge their loss in Eugene last September. The Ducks no longer have Marcus Mariota at the helm, but it would be foolish to count them out. This game should be close, hopefully it lives up to the hype.
2. Other important games include Oklahoma at Tennessee, Boise State at BYU, and LSU at Mississippi State. This will be LSU’s first game of the season after their opener was cancelled due to weather, and traveling up to Starkville with no warmup could be a tall order. Oklahoma can fully wash the bad taste out of their mouth from last year by winning on the road against a Vols team that’s received a lot of hype this summer, and conversely, Tennessee could announce themselves back on the national scene with a win over a big name program. And for Boise and BYU, a win puts either of them in position for a big New Years bowl game, though BYU’s schedule going forward is much more treacherous than Boise’s.
3. It’s about to get really bad for either Mike Leach or Kyle Flood. The locals are getting restless in Pullman, wondering whether this is the year it falls apart. And in New Jersey, the situation around the team went from somewhat innocuous academic scandal to multiple starters getting kicked off the team and charged with felonies. A loss for either team will look really bad, and it may not be one they can afford.
