Ohio State’s Jerome Baker is trying to make a difference:
Meet the freshman Ohio State LB using his influence to stand against sexual violence
Good morning. It’s your early roundup of college football stuff.

“It really bothered me that I played Steubenville,” he says. “When (the story of Steubenville players raping a girl) went national, I remember watching on TV and seeing the road that leads down to the stadium. I remember thinking, I rode down that road. I was in that town.”
Baker also felt judged by strangers, just for being a high school player.
“You were looked at strangely,” he said, describing how he felt as a football player. “People just looked at you as violent people. I really didn’t like that whole outlook on us.”
He wanted to do something about it, but didn’t quite know what.
Clemson escapes. The No. 11 Tigers had a rough night in Louisville, but they were still able to win 20-17. Louisville missed a game-tying field goal late in the fourth, and then had a Hail Mary fall short. Clemson is 3-0, Louisville is 0-3 and Dabo is out here still trying to figure out how to do the Whip and Nae Nae.
Time to make money. Bud Elliott had both Louisville’s points and the under, so he’s already 2-0 on his weekend betting picks. It’s basically guaranteed that they’re all right.
The showdown. Alabama and Ole Miss is the marquee game of the weekend (here’s your full weekend viewing guide, btw). Bill Connelly breaks down just how the Rebels and Tide will test each other.
You adapt. It seemed like not that long ago, the zone read was tearing defenses apart. Teams quickly incorporated it into their offense, and it’s become a centerpiece in a lot of places. As with all things, defenses have adapted, and here’s how they’re forcing offenses to change now that the shoe’s on the other foot.
Sticking with him. Florida is going to keep rolling with Will Grier as their starting quarterback, at least for this weekend against Kentucky.
How long can he last? It’s only been two games, but Vernon Adams is already banged up for Oregon. He’s never been a big guy, and when you combine his size with his playing style and more physical competition, it’s not uncalled for to think he’ll have to miss some time.
Maybe the best. Texas has the unenviable task of taking on Jared Goff and Cal this weekend. Our Texas blog goes in depth as to why Goff will be such a big challenge for the Texas defense.
Uniform news now! Northwestern is rolling out new white helmets for their game against Duke. They actually look pretty cool!
C'mon Brutus, smh. Following the lead of his teammate Cardale Jones' efforts with Ronda Rousey, Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott fired off a couple tweets trying to finagle a date with Taylor Swift. That is, until his own mascot jumped in and blew up his spot.
Never tweet. Colleges monitor what recruits and players are putting out on social media. It may seem a little weird, but it makes sense. It’s also hilarious.
The country’s No. 2 freshman tight end is apparently no longer at UCLA.
Oh no. Iowa fans have high hopes now.
