SEC teams don’t often venture North for non-conference games, but in one of the stranger non-conference games this season, LSU will make the trip to Syracuse. The Tigers went into this season with some uncertainty, but they have proven that they can run the ball, and run it very well. That was on display last week against Auburn, when LSU star Leonard Fournette rushed for 228 yards and three touchdowns on just 19 carries. Fournette literally threw an Auburn defender over his back.
How to watch LSU vs. Syracuse on TV or online, plus 3 things to know
Will Fournette crush the Orange?
So now Fournette gets to play Syracuse. The Orange are not projected to be very good this year, and they are already down two quarterbacks, meaning they could be forced to play a true freshman. But somehow, Syracuse is 3-0, with convincing wins against Rhode Island and Wake Forest and an overtime win against Central Michigan. This week, things get a lot tougher.
How can Syracuse stop Fournette? There is really no way for the Orange to do it, but considering how poorly trash talking went for Auburn last week, Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician is trying something nice: They think Fournette is a really nice, awesome guy!
Bold strategy, we’ll see how it pays off for them.

Three big things to know
1. What does Syracuse need to know? That Fournette did this to Auburn. Might wanna run away now.
2. Who is going to play quarterback for Syracuse? The Orange are down two QBs, and they face the prospect of having to un-redshirt a true freshman. This will be a storyline to follow all season.
3. Syracuse has not been particularly good at football for two decades, but the Orange have gotten some good teams to the Dome, including LSU and USC. This is a strange matchup, and for that reason alone, it’s worth a watch.
