How to watch Utah vs. Oregon on TV or online, plus 3 things to know

A lot of uncertainty surrounds these two good teams.

It’s gut-check time for Oregon and Utah as both teams try to figure out if they can be nationally elite this season. Utah heads into this game 3-0, while Oregon is 2-1. Of course, Oregon has played a tougher team, losing at Michigan State in week two after not finishing on its final drive. However, the Ducks have a much bigger issue right now: Who will start at quarterback? Vernon Adams was the starter heading into the season, but Jeff Lockie started in week three, since Adams was out with a broken finger.

Utah is 3-0 with an impressive win to start the season over Michigan. However, the Utes haven’t been particularly strong in their last two games, beating Utah State by 10 and giving up 24 points to Fresno State. Utah took a jump in the Pac-12 last year, but it can use this game to prove that it’s here to stay. The only problem? The Utes aren’t certain about their direction at quarterback, which isn’t ideal for what might be a shootout.

Will either team solve its uncertainty on offense? Will the Oregon defense improve? It’s a big game for both sides.

Three big things to know

1. What’s going on with Oregon’s quarterback situation? Will the Ducks stick with Adams, even if he’s not 100 percent? He’s an electrifying player, and this will be the second chance to see him against an elite team.

2. Can Utah take the next step in the Pac-12? This would be a huge win for the Utes after a massive mistake on a kickoff ruined their chances against Oregon last year. Utah is in the same league as Oregon — now it has to win.

3. Oregon has never been known for its defense, but the Ducks are typically very stout defensively. This year, it’s a different story. If the Oregon defense has a good game, that could raise the ceiling for the entire team this season.
