Kansas was trying to get one last play to finish its comeback against South Dakota State. Attempting to stop the clock and give themselves one last shot, quarterback Montell Cozart fumbled the snap on the spike play, and the clock ran out on the Jayhawks.

The entire situation is so unfortunate that it sort of leaves you without words. It’s just so sad. Not the most auspicious start to David Beaty’s career in Lawrence.
