Shortly after LSU’s game against McNeese State got under way, it was delayed due to lightning, and after a delay of almost four hours, LSU announced that the game had been cancelled and will not be made up.
LSU game cancelled due to lightning, won’t be made up
LSU will only play 11 games this season.

The game has been cancelled. At this time the game will not be made up.
— LSU Football (@LSUfball) September 6, 2015 That means LSU will only play 11 regular season games this year, as opposed to the typical 12. This was the weather radar at 10:40 p.m. local time, via Weather.com.
With more storms to come and a rule that the game can’t resume within 30 minutes of a lightning strike, this game likely wouldn’t have been able to restart until well after midnight.
This is not the only game to be affected by weather this weekend. Tennessee’s game against Bowling Green was delayed for a bit on Saturday, and Illinois’ game against Kent State was moved from Friday to Saturday due to lightning.
