For the first year since the beginning of the College Football Playoff, we won’t get to hear Arkansas athletic director and Playoff committee chair Jeff Long on our TVs each week, talking about body clocks and other irrelevant metrics. Long is no longer the committee chair.
Jeff Long will no longer be the College Football Playoff person who says things on TV that make you mad
Who will say “body clocks” next year?

Jeff Long will not be the CFP selection committee chairman in 2016, Bill Hancock confirms. Will remain on committee. No replacement yet.
— Chuck Carlton (@ChuckCarltonDMN) January 12, 2016 So, instead, we get someone else to spew platitudes. Here’s the list of potential replacements:
- Barry Alvarez, Wisconsin athletic director
- Lieutenant General Mike Gould, former superintendent of the US Air Force Academy
- Kirby Hocutt, Texas Tech athletic director
- Tom Jernstedt, former NCAA executive vice president
- Bobby Johnson, former Vanderbilt coach
- Tom Osborne, former Nebraska coach and athletic director
- Dan Radakovich, Clemson athletic director
- Condoleezza Rice, Stanford professor, former Stanford provost and former US Secretary of State
- Mike Tranghese, former Big East commissioner
- Steve Wieberg, former USA Today reporter
- Tyrone Willingham, former Notre Dame, Washington and Stanford coach
Here’s hoping it’s Barry Alvarez, who always steps in when needed (and will cut costs to an extreme).
@lukezim There are 3 of those near DFW so he’ll probably make them bid against each other first
