This Utah interception required 4 amazing things to go right at once

First, look at this unbelievable combo interception by Utah’s Chase Hansen and Marcus Williams, featuring the ankle of Arizona’s Nate Phillips. It required a perfectly timed big hit, the ball to bounce across Hansen’s back, Phillips’ ankle to keep the ball alive, and Williams to dive sideways at the last second.

Also, Saturday night’s Florida State-Miami ended in a fashion all too familiar to this rivalry — a blocked kick, of course. This time though, it was a blocked extra point that, if made, would have allowed Miami to tie the game up at 20 late in the fourth quarter.

Another one! Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers had this incredible punt return against Rutgers that would have been a touchdown, had it not been called back for a block in the back.

Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya was hit so hard that HE HAD A MOLAR LITERALLY KNOCKED OUT OF HIS MOUTH.

It has to be Houston, whose already slim chances to make the Playoff depended on the Cougs beating Louisville and finishing the season undefeated.

Now the talk surrounding Houston’s program, for the most part, will likely center around the possibility of head coach Tom Herman getting hired elsewhere.

Rutgers was completely dismantled by Michigan, losing 78-0, and here are some numbers to show just how badly the Knights got beat.

1. The 78-point margin was the biggest in an FBS-on-FBS game this millennium, according to the database at Sports Reference.

2. Rutgers had 6 (SIX!) yards of offense in the first half. That, ESPN said, was the fewest in the sport in almost two calendar years, since Wake Forest got 6 in the first half against Boston College.

3. Rutgers lost 7 yards on the first five plays of the second half, crossing into negatives for the day. The Scarlet Knights didn’t get into the black in total yardage until about midway through the third quarter. They finished with a sterling 39, including 5 passing yards. Michigan had 600.

Purdue iced Illinois’ kicker three times on a 41-yard field goal attempt with the game tied at 31, and miraculously, it worked!

This forced the game into overtime, which Purdue won with a field goal of its own, beating Illinois 34-31.

The hot seat tracker again goes to Charlie Strong at Texas, who, less than a week after assuming control of the Longhorns defense from DC Vance Bedford, gave up 672 total yards and 45 points in loss to Oklahoma in the Red River Shootout.

We knew Texas A&M was good, but we weren’t sure how the Aggies would fare against Tennessee, which seemingly kept finding miraculous ways to win each week. On Saturday, the Aggies were up 28-7 in the third quarter, and somehow the Vols managed to storm back, and tie things up at 35 to force overtime.

The game actually ended up going into double overtime, and the Aggies managed to outlast the Vols 45-38. TAMU’s game against No. 1 Alabama on Oct. 22 looks quite intriguing, with a 6-0 Texas A&M team.

The AP Poll will be released on Monday this week, due to South Carolina and Georgia playing on Sunday afternoon.

Auburn’s Montravius Adams had himself a beautiful scoop-and-score against Mississippi State to put his name on the Piesman ballot.

Somehow the refs let Texas get away with this play, which looked like it was straight out of the game NFL Blitz. In case you forgot, this was the video game in which you could just tackle opposing receivers before the ball even arrived.
