College football odds: Alabama and Ohio State are big road favorites vs. ranked teams

Arkansas will seek an upset at home over Ole Miss in one of the other featured matchups on the Week 7 college football betting card.

Joe Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been one of the most dominant teams in college football over the last calendar year, boasting an 11-1 SU and 9-3 ATS record over their last 12 games with a 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS record this season.

After passing their first road test of the season with a win in Oklahoma, the Buckeyes get another tough one this week as a 10.5-point favorite on the road against the Wisconsin Badgers. Wisconsin is 0-4 SU and ATS in its last four games against Ohio State.

Tennessee saw its 10-game winning streak snapped in last Saturday’s 45-38 double-overtime loss to the Texas A&M Aggies. This Saturday, the Volunteers will try to avoid starting a losing streak as an 11.5-point road underdog on the college football point spreads against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Alabama is a perfect 11-0 SU in its last 11 games played in Week 7, and the Crimson Tide are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games played against Tennessee. The Volunteers did cover the spread on the road in Alabama last year in a 19-14 loss as a 14.5-point underdog.

  • NC State at Clemson (-17)
  • Iowa State at Texas (-14)
  • Alabama (-11.5) at Tennessee
  • Ohio State (-10.5) at Wisconsin
  • Kansas State at Oklahoma (-10)
  • Arizona State at Colorado (-10)
  • Ole Miss (-7) at Arkansas
  • North Carolina at Miami (-7)
  • Nebraska (-6.5) at Indiana
  • Stanford at Notre Dame (-2.5)

Two programs that entered the 2016 season with hopes of contending for a playoff spot are suddenly both just looking to stop a free fall on Saturday as the Stanford Cardinal visit the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame is 1-3 SU and ATS over its last four games with two losses as a favorite, and Stanford is 0-2 SU and ATS over its last two games with back-to-back blowout losses. The Fighting Irish are 2.5-point favorites at home.

And the Arkansas Razorbacks are just 7-23 straight up in their last 30 games against SEC opponents with a 15-15 record against the spread over that stretch. The Razorbacks host the Ole Miss Rebels this Saturday in Fayetteville.

Arkansas is a 7-point home underdog on Saturday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. After losing to Alabama at home last week, Arkansas fell to 0-2 SU and ATS against SEC opponents in 2016, a sharp contrast from the team’s 4-0 SU and 2-2 ATS record against out of conference opponents.

Now the Razorbacks will try to bounce back against the Rebels, who are 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 games played in the month of October.
