North Carolina vs. Miami 2016 odds: Tar Heels seeking a big upset

The North Carolina Tar Heels are 14-4 straight up and 11-7 against the spread in their last 18 games against ACC opponents. The Tar Heels will try to pick up another win over a conference foe this Saturday on the road against the Miami Hurricanes.

North Carolina is a 7-point road underdog in Miami at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The road team is 0-4 ATS in the last four games between these two teams.

After losing at home to Georgia, 33-24, in their season opener, the Tar Heels went 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS over their next four games. North Carolina averaged 44.5 points per game over the win streak, which included a 37-35 road win over Florida State as a 10.5-point underdog.

But in the rainy weather caused by Hurricane Matthew last Saturday, the Tar Heels put up a total dud of a performance in a 34-3 home loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Miami still controls its own destiny in the ACC Coastal Division, and enters this game with a 6-0 ATS record in its last six games coming off a loss.

Saturday’s total is set at 64.5 points. The UNDER is 3-0 in Miami’s last three home games against North Carolina.

With Virginia Tech looking sharp at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play early, neither of these teams can afford a second conference loss in Week 7. North Carolina’s potent offense isn’t likely to put together two straight bad performances, but the Tar Heels will have their work cut out for them against one of the best defensive teams in the nation.
