College football odds, Week 8: Bama a huge favorite over unbeaten A&M, and more lines

The Buckeyes and the Crimson Tide look to stay undefeated in matchups against conference foes in Week 8 as double-digit betting favorites at the sportsbooks.

Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

The two remaining undefeated teams in the SEC clash this Saturday as the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide host the No. 6 Texas A&M Aggies. Alabama rolled to a 49-10 win over Tennessee on Saturday, improving to 19-0 SU over its last 19 games in the process.

Texas A&M has lost each of its last three games against Alabama and failed to cover the spread in each of its last two games against the Crimson Tide. The Tide are a 16.5-point favorite at home.

  • Ohio State (-19.5) at Penn State

  • Texas A&M at Alabama (-16.5)
  • Oklahoma (-13.5) at Texas Tech

The Ohio State Buckeyes are 4-0 straight up and 3-1 against the spread in their last four games against the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Buckeyes will try to extend that win streak to five with a road victory against Penn State on Saturday.

Ohio State is a 19.5-point road favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. With their road win over Wisconsin last week, the Buckeyes improved to 20-0 SU in their last 20 games on the road.

Penn State is off to a respectable 4-2 SU start to the 2016 season, but is just 2-7-1 ATS over its last 10 games overall. The Nittany Lions have won each of their last nine games played in Week 8.

The West Virginia Mountaineers were the biggest climber on the board in the AP Top 25 this week, jumping eight spots all the way up to No. 12. West Virginia is one of only two remaining undefeated teams in the Big 12, with a 5-0 SU record and is 10-1 SU over its last 11 games, as well.

This Saturday, West Virginia is a 4.5-point favorite at home against TCU. The Horned Frogs are 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 October games per the OddsShark College Football Database.

North Carolina State pushed Clemson to the brink last Saturday as a 20-point underdog, forcing overtime before losing 24-17 on the road. The pesky Wolfpack will be an 18-point underdog this Saturday visiting the Louisville Cardinals.

Louisville escaped with a 24-14 win against a very physical Duke team last week, and will get another deceptively tough test this week in the Wolfpack. The Cardinals are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against conference opponents.
