Arkansas vs. Auburn 2016 odds: Razorbacks seek a road upset

The Arkansas Razorbacks are set as underdogs of more than a touchdown at the sportsbooks as they visit the Auburn Tigers in an SEC matchup this weekend.

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

The Arkansas Razorbacks are 6-4 straight up and 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games against SEC opponents. The Razorbacks will try to pull off an upset against a conference rival on the road this Saturday against the Auburn Tigers.

Arkansas is a 9.5-point road underdog at Auburn at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The road team is 2-5 SU and ATS in the last seven games between these two teams.

With last Saturday’s 34-30 win at home over Ole Miss, Arkansas potentially flipped the script on its season. Going off as a 10-point underdog at home, the Razorbacks could have fallen to 0-3 in SEC play and 4-3 overall; instead, they picked up a statement win and brought their season record to 5-2 SU and 3-4 ATS.

This Saturday’s game against Auburn will be the fourth straight conference game in which the Razorbacks have been an underdog of a touchdown or more.

In the team’s last six games as a road underdog, Arkansas is 4-2 SU and 6-0 ATS per the OddsShark College Football Database. Before this stretch, the Razorbacks were 0-8 SU and 2-6 ATS in their previous eight as a road dog.

Betting Line / Total: Auburn -9.5 / 55.5 Points

Trend: The total has gone under in 10 of Auburn’s last 13 games at home.

Trend: Arkansas is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games against its conference.

Auburn had its own season-defining win back on September 24 against LSU. The Tigers survived a scare on the last play of the game as LSU didn’t get the play off in time, preserving an 18-13 home win for Auburn. The Tigers have carried the momentum of that win into two more, bringing their record in the first half of the season to 4-2 SU and 5-1 ATS.

In their last five games coming off a bye week as they are this week, the Tigers are 5-0 SU and 3-2 ATS.

Saturday’s total is set at 55.5 points. The UNDER is 10-3 in Auburn’s last 13 games at home.

This rivalry has been an evenly contested one over the years with both teams going 7-7 SU and ATS in their last 14 games against one another. But despite how close the series has been in wins and losses, six of the last seven games between Auburn and Arkansas have been decided by 17 points or more.
