Alabama vs. Arkansas odds: Bama’s a 2-TD road favorite against a ranked team

The Alabama Crimson Tide will be looking to continue their dominance over the Arkansas Razorbacks as large road favorites on Saturday night.

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide are 9-0 straight up and 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games against teams with winning records. The Crimson Tide will face another team with a winning record on the road this Saturday against the No. 16 Arkansas Razorbacks.

Alabama is a 14-point road favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In the last nine games between these two SEC West rivals, the Crimson Tide are a perfect 9-0 SU.

Year in and year out under head coach Nick Saban, Alabama loses a handful of NFL talent but has plenty of players waiting in the wings to fill those spots. The train has continued to roll this season as the Crimson Tide are off to a 5-0 SU and 3-2 ATS start, bringing their totals to 17-0 SU and 10-7 ATS over their last 17 games.

Alabama did look vulnerable in its only road game of the season, however, in a 48-43 win over Ole Miss, which adds some intrigue to the next two road games against Arkansas and Tennessee.

In their last seven games going off as a favorite of two touchdowns or less, the Crimson Tide are 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS per the OddsShark College Football Database.

Betting Line / Total: Alabama -14 / 49 Points

Trend: Alabama is 9-0 SU in its last nine games against Arkansas.

Trend: Arkansas is 7-22 SU in its last 29 games against its conference.

The Razorbacks have started the season off with a 4-1 SU and 2-3 ATS record, but that winning percentage may drop as the quality of opponents starts to rise.

Arkansas did pick up an impressive win on the road over TCU as a 10-point underdog, but has otherwise just faced three soft teams for wins at home in Louisiana Tech, Texas State, and Alcorn State and took a bad 45-24 loss at Texas A&M. The Razorbacks are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against teams with winning records.

Saturday’s total is set at 49 points. The UNDER is 5-0 in Arkansas’ last five Week 6 games.

For Arkansas, an upset win on Saturday would totally change the complexion of the season heading into the second half. The team’s last win over the Crimson Tide was a 24-23 thriller back in 2006. Alabama has won four of the last five games in this head-to-head series by double digits.
