The Kansas Jayhawks may be 1-8 on the season, but that doesn’t mean they can’t outsmart you.
A Kansas kick returner camouflaged himself in the end zone, because why not?
The play resulted in positive yardage, too!

Late in the second quarter against Iowa State, Kansas used some clever trickery on a kickoff return. Steven Sims Jr. recovered the initial kick and returned it for for five yards to the Kansas 34. He then pitched it laterally to LaQuvionte Gonzalez, who appeared on his left, seemingly out of nowhere. The Jayhawks were able to pull this off because Gonzalez was hiding in the end zone before the kickoff.
Kansas head coach David Beaty smartly took advantage of the Jayhawks’ blue uniforms by putting him down in the end zone.
This isn’t something new in college football — Boise State and others have done it a few times.
It even happened in the NFL, when it was dialed up by the Philadelphia Eagles. Riley Cooper’s attempt would have gone for a touchdown against the Saints, but he caught the ball in front of where Brandon Boykin passed it, making it an illegal forward pass.
Good for you, Kansas!
