This is one of the most hilarious, amazing plays I’ve seen in a long time. In the first quarter of No. 3 Michigan vs. Iowa, on fourth down from Iowa’s 36, the Hawkeyes attempted a fake punt. It looked like it was going to work — that is until the turf decided to ruin Iowa punter Ron Coluzzi’s hopes of this fake working. Coluzzi tripped badly on the turf after his first few steps of the fake.
This Iowa fake punt led to a punter somersault and bizarre Michigan targeting call
This was such an odd chain of events.

But what happened next was even crazier. On the ensuing tackle after he tripped, Michigan’s Devin Bush made a tackle on Coluzzi. Bush was called for targeting on the play.
The call, per NCAA rule, was reviewed by the officials. The targeting call stood and Bush was ejected, but since it’s a dead ball foul, the 15-yard penalty was enforced on Michigan’s next drive.
So, even after tripping and taking a hard hit, poor Coluzzi still wasn’t able to get his team a first down. Poor dude.
