When you live in a college town, you never quite know what you’re going to see.
WKU’s Big Red is riding around town and we want to know why
Mascot on the loose.

Bowling Green, home to Western Kentucky University, is also home to its mascot, Big Red.
It may not look like much from this photo, but here’s what Big Red looks like in all its glory:
How did THAT fit in a car?! Where is it going?!
WKU football had a bye week on Nov. 19, so what on earth is Big Red doing riding around the city in the passenger seat of this inconspicuous vehicle?
Is it looking for more puppies to devour?
Is it looking for clothing to cover its nude red body?
Is it headed to the mall for more of this?
Perhaps it has decided it no longer wants to be a mascot, and it’s leaving town in search of more of its kind in this cold, cruel world. It’s lonely. Look at those eyes. There is pain there.
Look at its hand, beseeching fellow motorists to offer it some kindness and affection.
On second thought, this could be something more sinister. Maybe Big Red is being kidnapped — without football, no one would notice it missing. Maybe that’s a cry for help as the mascot is whisked away from the only home it has ever known.
It’s hard to know the needs of an androgynous, plush representation of a Hilltopper, but we hope wherever it is, Big Red finds comfort and safety.
