LSU fired Les Miles in September, and his name’s surfaced now in Purdue’s search to replace the fired Darrell Hazell. Miles, we know, has spent the months since his firing pondering schemes and getting ready to coach again. We’ll keep talking about Miles in his capacity as a football coach for a long time to come, probably.
Les Miles’ description of good Thanksgiving food remains extremely on point
We’ve talked a good deal about Miles the football coach, but it’s time to talk about Miles the Thanksgiving food eater.

But this is not a post about Les Miles, Football Coach. This is a post about Les Miles, Appreciator of Fine Things and Thanksgiving Foods. Here is Miles discussing what pleases him in a Thanksgiving meal:
Here’s the full transcript, which is marvelous:
I am the easiest man to please when it comes to food. I have to be honest, I think it’s definitely the turkey with a warm gravy. Maybe it’s the last spoon or fork of food on the plate, you know, that has a little bit of salt and pepper, and maybe a little bit of the turkey and gravy and some of the stuffing that would be there, and maybe just a smidgeon of that cranberry stuff. Not like a big, not kind of overwhelm the last bite, but that right there, oh my goodness, right? That last bite’s worth a lot. I might add that the the turkey sandwich with mayonnaise, mustard, onions and a little salad, and a little lettuce, kind of makes for good eating later too, doesn’t it? Wish you hadn’t mentioned that. I haven’t had my lunch yet.
The line of questioning that elicited this response isn’t clear from the video. It was something about Thanksgiving. Here’s a collection of Miles’ pontifications on various holidays.
Miles’ former team plays at Texas A&M on Thanksgiving (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN). Here’s to hoping Miles will spend his night with some turkey with warm gravy, and maybe a little bit of salt and pepper, too.
