Former Ohio State QB Cardale Jones did not playing in 2016 epic version of The Game. He’s just like you and me, sitting on his couch, watching things unfold — in the helmet he wore while quarterbacking the team and a custom throwback jersey.

But he has a message for his former team and his former coach based on his bird’s-eye view of the proceedings.
Jones is upset because Michigan is walking most of its defenders up near the line of scrimmage. Typically when this happens, you get man-to-man coverage with your receivers because the defense is blitzing multiple people besides its front four. Ohio State absolutely has the athletes to exploit those matchups, and Jones’s annoyance about the situation is valid — especially given the fact that he knows those athletes personally, as well as the playbook.

That critique came after the 2015 Michigan State game in which Zeke got only 11 carries in a home loss on Senior Day. Hell, our Ohio State blog wrote an open letter calling for Tom Herman to return early last season because the play calling got that bad.
Ohio State finished 2016’s Michigan game with 330 total yards, 206 of which came on the ground. I’m sure all will be forgiven though because the final offensive play was certainly the right call:
