After beating Michigan, Urban Meyer made a little joke about milk

Jim Harbaugh happens to love milk.

Ohio State got the better end of the game of the year on Saturday, ousting Michigan in double-overtime at the Horseshoe. Jim Harbaugh was already really angry, but here’s a little joke that sure sounded like a playful dig. The perpetrator is either Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer or his wife, Shelley.

(She says it was him, and also says it wasn’t intentionally a shot at Harbaugh.)

Just stay with me here:

He’s made that joke, about his wife sending him on errands after games, before. But it’s extra funny this time, though Mrs. Meyer swears it was unintentional.

Harbaugh is an enthusiastic consumer of milk. Here’s a running timeline of the Michigan coach’s public proclamations of milk enjoyment. Excerpts:

That time he responded to an allegation that Meyer prefers 1 percent milk by calling it “candy-ass,” as he’s described that drink before.

Harbaugh explaining milk’s virtues to an inquisitive child:

There’s nothing really wrong with Harbaugh’s love of milk, I guess. Calcium’s good. Everyone appreciates strong bones, especially a football coach who fashions himself a good-hearted leader of young men. Milk’s fine, even though it’s fairly unappealing as a standalone drink for normal humans. (Put it with some cereal, folks.)
