After jumping out to an early 14-0 lead over the Florida State Seminoles, it looked as though Clemson was potentially on its way to a road blowout. Instead, the Seminoles went on a 28-6 run, bringing a 28-20 lead into the fourth quarter.
Florida State lost the lead but went back up 34-29 with under four minutes to go, but Deshaun Watson delivered a game-winning drive to earn Clemson a 37-34 win and a total lock on the ACC Atlantic Division. Clemson is 8-0 SU and 4-4 ATS on the season and holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over Louisville.
With a manageable schedule down the stretch, Clemson now turns its focus to avoiding any letdown games. The Tigers are 7-2 SU and 1-8 ATS in their last nine games played in October per the OddsShark College Football Database.

After picking up a 33-7 win and cover over an FCS team in Week 1, Syracuse went 1-4 SU and ATS over its next five games. The Orange were solid on offense over that stretch, but the defense allowed a staggering 41.8 points per game.
But over their last two games, the Orange have turned things around with a shocking 31-17 upset over Virginia Tech as a 23-point underdog and then a 28-20 win on the road over Boston College. Syracuse has had a bye week to prepare for this Saturday and is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games against ACC opponents.
Saturday’s total is set at 66.5 points. The UNDER is 7-2 in Syracuse’s last nine games.
Given the talent gap between these two teams, Clemson is in little danger of being upset outright. But with Syracuse playing well heading into its bye and the Tigers coming off an emotionally taxing road game, this one could end up being closer than the large spread suggests.
