There are moments in college football that just make you feel good about the sport and most importantly the young men playing it. What happened after San Diego State’s Donnel Pumphrey broke major college football’s rushing record with 115 yards in his final college game was certainly one of those.
Donnel Pumphrey’s dad in sweet post-record moment: ‘You’re the greatest of all time’
What a cool moment.

After the game, his dad interrupted his postgame interview, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
With a tear in his eye, Pumphrey’s father, Donnel Sr., said this about his boy:
“You’re the greatest of all time. Imagine that? You. Congratulations, I’m proud of you ... Nothing but God. They all talked about his size, look at him. He broke the record. Look at him. He has teammates that backed him up 100 percent. Good kid all the way around, excellent through school all the way through. Hit his books like his dad told him. Thank you son.”
There were at least three generations of Pumphreys at the game, too. The younger Donnel was seen kissing his daughter on the sideline as well after he broke the rushing record.
He should be in the record books for sweetest college football moment as well after this.
