Early in the fourth quarter of the 2016 Bedlam game, Oklahoma running back Samaje Perine sustained a head injury after a helmet-to-helmet hit.

At the time, Perine had 26 carries for 187 yards, and had pushed his career yardage total to 3,984, moving him fifth all-time on the Oklahoma career rushing list in front of former RB Quentin Griffin.
He’s the second major OU offensive skill player to go down today. WR Dede Westbrook had a head injury as well in the first half of this game which he did not return from. Perine would return to finish the game and eclipse 4,000 yards.
