No. 4 Washington is trying to beat No. 1 Alabama in the Peach Bowl Playoff semifinal. The Crimson Tide are a machine, and it takes a lot to beat them. This will help:
LOOK AT THESE F***ING PEACH BOWL PUNTS
Washington’s Tristan Vizcaino announces his presence in the Playoff with a booming boot, and then another.
Washington went three-and-out on its first series, which isn’t the most auspicious way to start a game against Nick Saban. But UW punter Tristan Vizcaino launched a 64-yard punt, which bounced past Bama return man Trevon Diggs and forced Alabama to start inside its own 20 to start the game. It went in the books as a 65-yarder.
The Husky defense forced its own three-and-out immediately afterward, so Washington managed to stave off falling behind Alabama right from the outset. The Huskies actually took a 7-0 lead, before Alabama pulled in front.
But then Vizcaino got to put his foot on the ball again, and again he delivered a Picasso of a punt.
Diggs let it bounce past him again, and this punt went for 62 yards. Vizcaino is the MVP of this game if Washington wins it.
But Washington got slightly tricky with a punt in the fourth quarter, and had Jake Browning kick what is perhaps the punt of the game. The right handed punter drop kicks it with his left foot and gets a perfect roll.
