Maybe it means something. Maybe it doesn’t.
The cynic in me hopes this is a savage intentional snub. Alabama thumbing their nose at these westerners to assert pregame superiority with a mind game. The subtle type of “bless your heart” backhanded southern shade.
Nah, they just just shook prior to the toss.
