College Football Playoff 2016 selection show: Start time, TV schedule, and live stream info

The final Top 4 of the season will be announced on Sunday afternoon.

The Sunday we’ve been waiting for all season is finally upon us. The College Football Playoff 2016 selection show will take place Sunday, Dec. 4, one day after Championship Saturday.

The Playoff semifinals, which are the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl, will be unveiled at approximately 12:30 p.m. ET, with the ESPN/WatchESPN broadcast beginning at noon ET.

The selection committee’s No. 1 team (Alabama) will play the No. 4 team in the Peach, and the No. 2 team will face No. 3 in the Fiesta.

Expect Clemson, Ohio State, Penn State, and Washington to be the four teams in the mix for the other three spots.

The committee will place the top two seeds at the most advantageous sites, which includes criteria such as convenience of travel for its fans, home-crowd advantage/disadvantage, and general familiarity with the host city and stadium. The preference will go to the No. 1 seed.

Teams that will be selected for the other four New Year’s Six bowls (Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Cotton Bowl, and Rose Bowl), as well as the final Top 25 rankings and start times for the semifinal games, will be announced around 2:30 p.m.

Rece Davis will host the four-hour show with analysts Joey Galloway, Kirk Herbstreit, Danny Kanell, and David Pollack from studios located at ESPN. Other analysts that will make appearances throughout the show include Paul Finebaum, Chris Fowler, and Jesse Palmer via satellite.

Davis will conduct his weekly interview with College Football Playoff Committee Chair Kirby Hocutt, who will appear twice, at approximately 12:40 p.m. and after the four New Year’s Six bowl matchups are announced.
