The College Football Playoff selection show started at Noon ET. But just like for the March Madness version, we all sat around, waiting for the rankings to actually come out while the talking heads did their hollering and time-filling until 12:30. Washington made it in the Playoff, of course, but coach Chris Petersen wasn’t pleased about having to sit around listening to analysts’ opinions.
Washington’s Chris Petersen made fun of ESPN’s drawn-out Playoff selection show
It took some time, but Washington indeed got Bama.
He even got ESPN’s Rece Davis to admit that they drew the show out, in a joking way, and of course the shade didn’t go unnoticed by ESPN PR.
But now that Petersen’s Huskies are in, Alabama is the team opposite them on the bracket and the opponent in the Peach Bowl semifinal game.
Washington fans have been barking up this tree since September, with signs clamoring for the Tide.
But Petersen has a bashful message about the tough opponent.
So it took a little bit of filling banter, but now it’s on to Alabama for Petersen & Co. They’ll have plenty of time to prepare for the Tide.
